The No Tillegra Dam group

The No Tillegra Dam group

The damming of the Williams River is: dam unnecessary – oversupply of water for the Hunter dam expensive – cheaper, better alternatives dam destructive – destroys farmland, families, environment

1. Why was Tillegra Dam proposed in November 2006 when Hunter Water
Corporation’s 2006 planning document did not identify it as necessary?

2. Why supply the equivalent of 450 rainwater tanks of water to each
Hunter household?

3. Why flood 3000 plus hectares of irreplaceable agricultural land when
the world is facing drastic food shortages?

4. Why cause irreparable environmental damage to the only remaining
healthy river in the Hunter?

5. Will the State Government mount an independent enquiry into the
cheaper, more sustainable alternatives leading to gradual costs over the
planning period whilst educating the public on water conservation?
