Friends of Ku ring gai

We are fighting to protect the heritge, character and environment of Ku-ring-gai and the nationally recognised 28 Inter-War National Trust (NSW) classified urban conservation areas, situated along the ridgeline of Ku-ring-gai, and within a context of the original Blue Gum High Forest, now listed as critically endangered ecological community, from excessive overdevelopment in the form of highrise development forced on Ku-ring-gai by State Government planning policies,legislation (SEPP 53, SEPP5. Part 3A powers etc.), and the NSW Metro-strategy through the undemocratic intervention and imposition of the Minister's Planning Panel, removing Council's planning powers for implementation of the Local Environmental Plan - Town Centres.
